The Edithvale Fire Brigade is a fully volunteer fire brigade that has served the communities of Edithvale , Aspendale and Aspendale Gardens since 1925. The Brigade also supports neighbouring brigades in the area and in times of state wide emergencies is called to assist throughout Victoria and sometimes interstate. We have approximately 100 volunteers who dedicate their time to support the local community in a broad range of fire and rescue services, including emergency medical response . Each year our volunteers repond to over 300 emergency calls. Our volunteers also give generous time to the community such as support to the Royal Children’s Hospital (since 1954), the local RSL, Rotary, school visits etc. The CFA provides the Brigade with two trucks and maintains equipment for our primary turnout requirements but minimal funding for our everyday operational and administrative needs. The Brigade has two additional brigade owned specialised vehicles, a salvage vehicle and a medical response vehicle, that were purchased through the generous support of business and the community. To supplement the Brigade’s normal operational and administrative requirements we need to conduct numerous fundraising events throughout the year. This Fun Run is one initiative that the Brigade has instituted to assist us to raise funds and we seek the support of our community in this endeavour.
